Mr Bailey joins us from Harrow School where he has held several prominent leadership roles. His current position as Director of Studies and membership in the Senior Management Team has seen him overseeing a broad spectrum of academic and co-curricular initiatives.

He brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his new role. During his time at Harrow, he has been responsible for academic operations, including university provision, careers guidance, and external examinations. As Head of Learning Skills, he played a key role in supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and English as an additional language (EAL). In 2021, Mr Bailey was appointed Director of Studies, a position in which he has led curricular planning, academic strategy, and professional development for teaching staff.

A strong advocate for holistic education, Mr Bailey has contributed significantly to the co-curricular life of Harrow School. His involvement has included coaching rugby, football, and cricket, as well as participating in the Combined Cadet Force (CCF) and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme. Beyond his school duties, Mr Bailey has served as a foundation governor at a local Church of England primary school and has been actively involved with the International Boys’ Schools Coalition as a teacher-trainer and trustee. He is also a Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching, reflecting his deep commitment to the teaching profession.

Mr Bailey will be joined by his wife, Lindsay, who is the Director of Sixth Form at a Girls’ Day School Trust (GDST) school in North-West London, and their two young children. The Worksop College and Ranby House community are confident that Mr. Bailey will build on the school’s rich traditions while guiding us toward an exciting future. His passion for holistic education, coupled with his strategic vision and extensive experience, makes him the ideal leader for our schools.

As we prepare to welcome Mr Bailey and his family, we also extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr John Price and his wife, Jane. Dr Price, who will be stepping down at the end of the Spring term, has been an outstanding leader, guiding Worksop College and Ranby House through significant milestones and encouraging a strong sense of community.
